KCER: Kidney Community Emergency Response Coalition
Coordination of Staff and Volunteers Response Team
Team Leadership: NCC
Goals: Develop a means that professional dialysis staff, to include Nurses, Technicians, Social Workers and Dietitians, can be made available and deployed to assist patients during a disaster.
Accomplishments: Established a emergency volunteer database. Provided a link on the ANNA web site for professionals to sign up to volunteer during disasters. Reviewed and posted an educational handout titled “Packing for Deployment. Investigated licensure issues in an effort to assure that the process of deploying professional volunteers does not slow the kidney communities response in a disaster.

Join/Access the Volunteers Email List: This email list is a method of communication for the staff who have volunteered for ANNA's ongoing call for volunteers. Following the Summit in January 2006, the Kidney Community Emergency Response Coalition (KCERC) began compiling a list of individuals interested in assisting in the event of a future emergency or disaster. This list serves as a means to quickly identify volunteers. Registering as a volunteer does not necessarily mean that you will be called for every disaster that occurs. People will be called as needed. Please note that volunteers will be responsible for their own transportation to the disaster area.
